Disaster & Casualty Management
It is any owner's hope and expectation that he will never be in a situation where one of his vessels is involved in a disaster such as fire, collision, grounding, explosion, food-poisoning, bomb-threats, hijacking, etc. Unfortunately, however, cruise vessels and passenger-ferries experience these situations. In these cases, experienced shore-side management and staff are a necessity, as is the capability of having staff allocated only to this issue for the duration, while a day-to-day operation of other vessels continues.
