  • Crew recruitment and procedures for joining ship and repatriating crew
  • Payment of wages and leave with overtime and service bonuses of officers and crew
  • Medical examinations and fitness certificates
  • Implementation and follow-up of drug and alcohol policies
  • Crew P&I insurance as well as handling of respective claims
  • Proper qualification and certification of crew
  • Supply of working gear for crew
  • Insurance for crew effects

Training

ISP provides thorough training for all crew members and requires that crew members have relevant and up-to-date qualifications and experience for appropriate positions, and that potential crew members are capable of interpreting and understanding key instructions. For the owner, this results in officers and crew that are better trained and qualified, with a much higher degree of flexibility.

ISP has committed that onboard safety has the highest priority, which is reflected in an extensive training program.

ISP makes sure that all crewmembers onboard vessels operated by ISP, regardless they are contracted by ISP, receives familiarization training prior to the crew members being assigned duties onboard the vessels.

A basic training program has been worked out together with an STCW certified outside source, who is also performing the hands-on training onboard. The training program is called Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities and covers aspects of Basic Training as required by STCW 95.

In addition ISP is using outside sources for fire fighting training.

A contract has been signed with a local training center for training onboard the vessels in risk management and crowd control aspects that became mandatory in 1999.

The quality department is determining when other training is required.

ISP's Safety Management System has identified numerous different scenarios, where drills are regularly carried out, both onboard the vessel and Oil spill, grounding, fire and abandon ship.
